Or, at least, the day before Thanksgiving snow. It snowed pretty much all day. It was a busy morning, lots of cooking going on - some maple walnut fudge (this stuff is so good that I cannot stop eating it), cranberry bread, prepping vegetables for tomorrow, a chocolate pie, bread for dinner, getting ready for the snow....and minutes before the cranberry bread was due to come out....the power went out. Luckily, the bread was able to finish baking with the leftover oven heat and, even though it was supposed to be for Thanksgiving, we decided it would make a better snack right then with tea. I am so grateful for my gas stove because we can actually cook during a power outage - or at least heat up water easily. The power was out for a few hours, which we mostly spent playing games - Professor Noggin Civil War, Green Alligators, and Apples to Apples Junior. They don't seem to make Green Alligators anymore, which is a shame, because Rose adores that game. Then the kids wanted to make a snowman so we did that. I really have to convince myself to get outside in the snow. It takes a lot of convincing some days, but I find it is usually worth it.
It certainly is pretty out there.
The power came back on in time for us to cook dinner and watch A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, so all is well.
Have a lovely Thanksgiving!
