For the week of June 16th...
On Tap for the Week
We have a pretty quiet week planned. A riding lesson, an orthodontist appointment for Grace, Rose's last gymnastics class till fall, a trip to the library....and then Rose's 6th birthday on the weekend! Trying not to get too upset at the thought of my "baby" being another year older!
My mom, who would have turned 60 today. It's been four years now, and I still miss her so very much.
Outside My Window
After tons of rain, we are finally entering a nice stretch of sunny, warm days. I am looking forward to lots of outdoor time this week. We have been way too cooped up with the gloomy weather of last week.
It's growing! I keep forgetting to take pictures but we have a ton of lettuce, radish, endive, parsley, beet greens, and rhubarb out there. I am thinking we will have some new potatoes pretty soon, too.
I got my Book Shark order last week and will do a post on that soon. Rose was anxious to get started on History K, so we have done a bit of that. My plan now is to keep up lessons this week, and then next week we will start a much lighter, summery schedule.
In Our Kitchen
I never did make rhubarb jam last week so it will have to move to this week. Grace has agreed to help, so I may actually be able to scratch up the motivation to do it.
Watching & Reading
The kids and I watched an episode of Jeopardy! last week and they really enjoyed it. I think it may become regular summer viewing for us. We also watched The Double Helix, the last HHMI video we hadn't seen. I need to get some more stuff on the Netflix list for them soon.
