Monday Musings

***Outside my window...It's really cold again. I am so sick of being cold. I know I've said that a hundred times, but really. Can't it be spring yet?

***Things I'm thinking about...Getting back into a routine. A week off from formal homeschooling is always nice, but I do look forward to our regular routine. It can be a bit of a challenge to get everyone back into it, though!

***Barn & garden happenings...We are still boiling sap into syrup as the weather allows. I started a few kale seeds too, just eight plants, which should be plenty. Last year we were positively overrun with kale.

***In our kitchen... Shamrock shakes are up for today, in honor of St. Patrick's day. I'm also making slowcooker cilantro lime chicken this week. We had it last week over rice, this week it will be a taco filling. Super easy, very good, and definitely earning a spot on our favorite dinners list.

*** In our homeschool...I'm hoping to add in a couple new things this week, just to break things up a little. More on that later, once I decide.
***Creating... My cowl is going along slowly, as is our bathroom renovation. This week it's time to find some new closet doors.

***Reading and watching... Rose and I are flying through the My Father's Dragon series. We are now reading Dragons of Blueland. We went to see Mr. Peabody & Sherman over the weekend and really enjoyed it. My history-loving boys especially liked all the historical references.
***A few plans for the week ahead...St. Pat's, James turns 9, the dog's birthday, and the first day of spring!

***A trap to catch a leprachaun...or at least his treasure...directions here if you want to try making one.

Have a wonderful week!
