Monday Musings

For the week of November 11th 2013...

Outside My Window...We had our first snow a couple of days ago! Not enough to accumulate, just enough to swirl around in the air and make you want to stay inside.

Things I'm Thinking About...Bathroom renovations. Replacing the bathtub is turning out to be more of a pain than expected, so progress is slow. I did my part though, I ordered a new shower curtain!

On the Farm...The garlic is in. Next on the list is clean-up. The tomato cages need to be stored and I would like to do one last weeding before I cover it up with leaves. I would like to fence off the garlic so the chickens can be allowed in to scratch around and eat any leftover pests. We will see.

In Our Kitchen....Lots of cooking this past weekend. I made chicken tikka masala (awesome) and strawberry oatmeal bars (much easier and just as awesome). I think I am on a Pioneer Woman kick. And she is a homeschooler! I don't have my grocery list for the week made up yet, so I don't know what will be cooking this week.
In Our Homeschool... DD12 is very close to finishing both Latin for Children A and Life of Fred Decimals & Percents. She will be going on to the next levels in both, but I will wait to order until she actually finishes. That way she will get a bit of a math and Latin break.

Creating...My wrist warmers are finished. I had a hard time getting the bottoms tight enough, but other than that I am happy with them. I am making a hat for myself now, after realizing I do not own even one good winter hat.

Reading and Watching... We have been watching back episodes of Modern Family and Once Upon a Time, without the kids. Both very fun shows, and very relaxing at the end of the day when you have no brain-power left.

A Few Plans For the Week Ahead...We have been passing around a weird kind of cold with very mild cold symptoms but with a 1-2 day fever that leaves you feeling cruddy.  And we are only up to child 2 with it, so we'll see how that goes! I am also hoping to finally get our Thanksgiving lesson plans all set to go, we have a bday party to attend, and I have some allium bulbs I really should have planted ages ago.

Hope you have a great week!
