Meal Planning Part 2

Earlier, I posted about coming up with "theme nights" to streamline meal planning. I have started collecting a list of dinners that the majority of my family enjoys. Most recipes on this list are popular with everyone in the family, but sometimes....well, there's one in every crowd, you know.

This is definitely a list that will be added to over time.  I am trying to get in the habit of updating this list weekly with new recipes we have tried and enjoyed.  I love the idea of having a master list of popular dinners to refer to when making up the weekly shopping list.

Casserole & Dutch Oven Dinners

Dutch Oven Potato & Chickpea Curry
Baked Macaroni and Cheese- this is our all-time favorite mac & cheese recipe
Really Quick Chicken Parmigiana
Turkey Shepherd's Pie
Tater Tot Casserole
Lasagna-We like our lasagna very plain. I always follow the recipe on the pasta sauce jar!
Chicken & Wild Rice Hotdish

Pasta & Rice Dinners

Angel Hair Pasta with Turkey Meatballs
Noodle Bowls- there are so many variations you can do for these!
Lasagna Soup
Black Beans and Rice-We serve this with tortilla chips and salsa.
Spaghetti Carbonara

Crockpot Dinners

Meatball Sliders-I put the meatballs in the crockpot on low till dinner-time.
Turkey Chili
Sweet Potato Black Bean Burritos
Chili Mac
Baked Potatoes
Ravioli Casserole
Crockpot Cilantro Lime Chicken - good over rice or in tacos

Sandwiches & Salads

Seafood Salad
Tuna or Turkey Melts
Grilled Cheese
Refried Bean Wraps
Big Sandwich
Chef's Salad
Chili Dogs
Cranberry-Orange Turkey Bagels
Falafel Wraps with Tabbouleh
Ham, Swiss, and Apple Wraps

Appetizer Dinners- I will often make one of these recipes and set it out with crackers, cheese, olives, little pickles, slices of deli turkey or ham....it's easy and the kids think they are getting something fancy!

Olive Cheese Dip
Raspberry Cheese Dip
Deviled Eggs

Taco Night-This is a favorite around here. We set out crunchy or soft tortillas, seasoned ground turkey or chicken and shrimp, lettuce, tomato, salsa, shredded cheese, sour cream....and everyone builds their own.

There will be more recipes added here soon, I'm sure. I am on kind of a cooking kick lately and feeling excited to try new things. I added the Chicken & Wild Rice Hotdish just before I posted, because we had it for dinner tonight. It was very popular! Not as quick and easy as some others, but definitely worth the trouble.

Till Next Time!
