For  the week of September 30th, 2013

Outside My Window...Another gorgeous fall week coming up. The lawn is just covered in leaves, and I really wish I had the energy to rake them! Or the interest;).

Things I'm Thinking About...Too many things, really. I still need to sit down and make that master to-do list that I said I was going to start last week. Having things written down somehow makes everything seem less stressful. At least it takes away the worry of forgetting about something you were supposed to do!

In My Garden...It's time to pull up the tomato plants. I think they are officially done for the year. Peppers too. The kale is still going strong but I need to make a point of using it more.

In the Barnyard... We got our first egg from our new batch of ducks over the weekend! We actually had to buy eggs at the store this past weekend, which is very disappointing when you have 20-something chickens. So any egg is very much appreciated.

In Our Kitchen....The apples from last weekend's jaunt are mostly used up. This week we are going to try to make cider doughnuts.

In Our Homeschool....We have decided to switch Christopher to Teaching Textbooks for math. Math Mammoth was just royally confusing him and much of Life of Fred goes right over his head. I had him try a sample lesson of TT and he did well with it. Hopefully it will continue to hold his interest. Review coming once we've tried it out for a few weeks.

Creating.....I finished Rose's hat! I am super excited about it. I actually made several mistakes-Grace says I must have flipped the work backwards a few times-but it resulted in a stripey effect that I actually really like. I took a picture, but I'm too lazy to get my camera right now;).

Reading and Watching...I am still reading Agatha Christie this week: The Boomerang Clue. This week, the kids and I have been watching The Story of Us, and it is quite good!

Plans For the Week Ahead...A field trip at week's end. A sleepover. Ordering Halloween costumes. And a long weekend....we are only schooling two days this week and taking the rest of the week off. I am looking forward to having some time to get organized a bit.

Hope you have a great week!
