What we did this week....
Lots of driving. We have been putting a lot of miles on our van this summer! The boys did tennis camp and naturally there was a heat wave all week. Ugh! They still had a blast though.
Grace did some work on her own every morning and has worked her way through most of week 2 of Core F. We set up a photo sharing site over on Shutterfly that we both can upload pictures too. I use Facebook sparingly, but I don't like to put a lot of photos on it, plus this way she can share her pictures too. She has been making some jewelry this week and it is nice to see her doing crafty stuff again.
Rose and I read books and picked raspberries whenever we could find the time. I bought her a little wooden treasure box at the craft store and she painted it.
Besides all that we visited with friends, hiked, swam, and did lots of driving;).
I am sorry to say my garden has been sorely neglected these past couple of weeks! I need to be better about fitting garden work into our routine. A big garden is fun to plant, but a ton of work, as I am finding out! Something always needs doing!
Next week the kids have a couple extra workshop-type classes they are involved in and we will do some lessons as we have time. I doubt we will get to much. After that we are taking two weeks off. This summer is flying by so very fast and there is still so much to do and see.
I have decided that we will experiment with three hour school days and see how it goes. We had been averaging more like 5 hours, but I think that is too much. It's hard to do other things and not feel stressed out. I think a school day of 8:30-11:30 sounds lovely, at least for the rest of the summer. I would love to have such a short day permanently but we will see how it goes.
