Our Thanksgiving Unit Study: A Wrap-Up

We kept this year's Thanksgiving study pretty simple. Everyone read a chapter of A Pioneer Thanksgiving to themselves daily and we tried to do one of the activities from the book most days.

We played a game of Conkers.

We made nutting baskets.

We tried the cranberry sauce recipe- it was interesting, but very cinnamon-y. I think we will stick to the recipe on the back of the cranberry bag from now on!

We made festival bread.....

And butter to go with it...

We made corn dollies, following the instructions in the book, but substituting yarn for plastic lace.  These were apparently super exciting....

It was a lot of fun! Now we are looking forward to our Christmas studies which will begin next week.  And I will have a post on that coming up in just a few days!
